Estate agent alternatives · A decision guide
WHOMA vs GetAgent
GetAgent helps sellers use local sales performance to shortlist agents. WHOMA centres individual professional profiles and a structured seller-brief-to-proposal process, with selective seller access. The useful question is which decision you need help making now.

A shortlist and a proposal answer different questions
GetAgent’s published approach helps identify local agencies using sales evidence. WHOMA’s proposal workflow asks invited agents to respond to one brief. A seller may benefit from both stages: finding candidates and then examining what each offers for this particular move.
A branch’s historic results do not identify who will handle your viewings or negotiate your sale. Ask both services how the proposed person, responsibilities and communication plan are confirmed. WHOMA’s individual profiles provide professional context; they are not a promise of a better sale result.
Compare the commitment as well as the headline fee
Before choosing, ask for the total fee including VAT, marketing extras, who conducts viewings and the contract’s duration and termination terms. A comparison service being free to a seller does not mean the appointed estate agent’s work is free.
For example, with fictional proposals, a lower percentage that excludes accompanied viewings cannot be compared fairly with an inclusive service until those extras and responsibilities are made explicit. This is a decision checklist, not evidence that one platform produces lower fees.
WHOMA today
Professional context. Structured decisions. Preparation for review.
WHOMA centres the individual estate agent’s professional profile. Its seller workflow connects a brief, a proposal window, comparable proposals, a shortlist and appointment to gated messages and sale milestones. Seller access is selective: check availability before relying on it for your move.
WHOMA’s Compliance Agent helps eligible estate agents organise instruction details, identify missing information and prepare summaries, checklists and reviewer questions. Reviewed PDF, DOCX or TXT excerpts can be sent in chat; document drafts require an explicit request and can be edited and downloaded as text. Private history and an optional next-day in-app follow-up support returning to the work. This is preparation for human review: the full case workflow, live AML checks, agreement sending and unattended case execution are not enabled. The pilot focuses on England and Wales residential sale instructions; Scotland and Northern Ireland need their own specialist process.
Sources and what remains unverified
We have not established a universal current agent referral rate or completed GetAgent’s signed-in journey. Its own coverage and performance claims are provider claims, not independently verified outcomes.
